Who is behind Speaker Business Builder?
Speaker Business Builder is the brainchild of Chris Davidson, an IT engineer and Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association (PSA). Chris lives in the UK, in a small coastal town on the Wirral peninsula, halfway between Liverpool and Chester.
Chris established Active Presence 2002 to help people communicate complex information more persuasively and memorably. Prior to this he served as a senior manager with some of the world’s most prestigious high-tech companies in the aviation, telecommunications and IT industries.
Chris joined the PSA shortly after establishing Active Presence and was made a Fellow in 2008. He has attended many conventions both at home and overseas, including speaking at several Global Speaker Summits.
Chris observed many speakers struggling with creating and maintaining an effectively online presence and decided to offer some help.
The Speaker Business Builder Team
The ethos of the Speaker Business Builder service is simple:
Speaker Business Builder solves real
online marketing problems with the
right processes and technology
The Speaker Business Builder service is delivered by an international team, comprising highly skilled specialists. The technology underpinning the service runs on Amazon’s infrastructure and is available worldwide in multiple languages and currencies.
SEO research is conducted in the UK and Croatia. Design and wireframe work is organised within the UK, as is copywriting. All team members abide by the team’s core values:
Intellectually trustworthy
Desire to help
Conscientious attention to detail
Reliable delivery
Gone are the days when communication was by telephone or letter, or telegram for special occasions. The amount of babble, waffle and myth has increased hugely. This noise threatens to drown out valuable messages, vital to the progress of commerce.
People waste a lot of time and effort cutting through all the junk, looking for the real stuff. Speaker Business Builder can help you ‘cut through’ and get your message heard.
The Speakers Digital Footprint Survey
In 2017 Chris conducted the first Speakers Digital Footprint Survey and presented the report at the first European Speakers Convention in The Netherlands. The report was so well received that survey was expanded for 2018 – and the 2018 report was presented at the Global Speakers Summit in New Zealand in February 2018.
During this time Chris also tested various different technologies, looking to create a platform that would better serve the needs of the speaking sector.
For 2019 the Worldwide Speakers Digital Footprint Survey was expanded even further, with 1,000 websites analysed worldwide. The report continues to be updated annually (and occasionally for conferences at which Chris is speaking).
The Speaker Business Builder service was launched in at the beginning of 2019, coincident with the 2019 survey and report.
